Damai Cartenz task force arrests arms supplier for KKB in Sarmi
Police said 12 suspects have been charged since March, with 298 bullets, 4 SS1 magazines and 1 homemade gun seized.
The Damai Cartenz Operation task force arrested YK (52), a man suspected of supplying firearms and ammunition to a KKB network in Papua Pegunungan, at Pasar Sentral Sarmi in Sarmi Regency, Papua, on Saturday (6/6) at about 13:16 WIT. Damai Cartenz public relations chief Yusuf Sutejo said the arrest came from an investigation into the weapons supply chain for armed groups in Yalimo and Yahukimo. Investigators said that in early March YK received one firearm and ammunition documents from a man identified as B at his home in Argapura, Jayapura City, then passed them on for a transaction with the group led by Simeon Payage. Police seized a cellphone, identity card, bank card and cash. By early June 2026, a total of 12 people had been named suspects in the case.
