Russian ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv killed at least nine people and wounded 28 early Saturday, Ukrainian officials said, as Moscow kept up an intensified campaign against the capital. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said attacks hit multiple districts, with seven deaths reported in Darnytskyi and two in Solomianskyi, where a five-story residential building was partly destroyed. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said fires broke out across the city and some areas lost power. The latest barrage followed a broader Russian strike earlier this week that killed at least eight people elsewhere in Ukraine and sent a suspected Russian missile into Poland, where authorities found a crater and debris in Lublin province.
