UBK rectorate investigates student claim of receiving Rp20 million
The campus is preparing sanctions for involved students but says it has no authority to trace the source of the funds.
The rectorate of Universitas Bung Karno (UBK) in Jakarta will investigate a student’s claim of receiving Rp20 million before taking part in a protest. UBK Vice Rector IV Franky Roring said the campus is tracing who was involved based on information that so far has largely come from the head of the UBK Faculty of Law student executive board, Muhammad Abdimaludin. He said the results of the investigation will be made public. The campus is also preparing sanctions for students involved, in line with UBK’s authority as an educational institution. However, the rectorate acknowledged it cannot probe who gave the money, how much was received, or any other parties outside the campus, because that is beyond its authority.
