Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, the eldest daughter of Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn, died at age 47 at Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok on Thursday at 19.48 local time. The Royal Household Bureau said the princess had been treated since December 15, 2022 after losing consciousness from a heart condition. Her condition worsened since May 21 after a stomach infection from colitis triggered low blood pressure, arrhythmia and blood clots. The king ordered funeral rites with the highest royal honors. Her body will lie in state at the Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall in the palace complex. The public is invited to take part in a symbolic bathing rite at Sahathai Samakom Pavilion on June 13, then pay respects and sign a condolence book starting June 14. After 15 days of rites, viewing of the body will open from June 27.
