Pulisic fractures leg in US 4-1 World Cup loss to Belgium

What's next: The AC Milan forward is expected to miss several weeks but could resume training before Milan's Aug. 23 opener at Torino.

Christian Pulisic sustained a fractured right leg in the United States' 4-1 World Cup round-of-16 loss to Belgium in Seattle and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks. US Soccer said he suffered a microfracture and bone bruise, with X-ray and MRI scans completed Tuesday. The injury happened in the 52nd minute when Pulisic struck the leg of Belgium captain Youri Tielemans while trying to shoot. He stayed on briefly before Sebastian Berhalter replaced him in the 59th minute. Pulisic, who turns 28 in September, did not score during the tournament and missed one match with a calf injury. US Soccer and AC Milan are working together on his rehabilitation plan.
