PSI and Gerindra deny Dedi Mulyadi will switch parties
PSI says it has had no contact with Dedi and is focused on KPU factual verification, not 2029 recruitment.
PSI and Gerindra denied rumors that West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi will leave Gerindra to join the Indonesian Solidarity Party. PSI DPP head for politics Bestari Barus said there has been no communication with Dedi and questioned where the rumor came from. He also said PSI is not seeking to recruit Dedi for the 2029 election because the party is concentrating on factual verification at the KPU. From Gerindra, West Java deputy chairman Buky Wibawa Karya Guna said he has not seen any signs that Dedi is leaving. Buky stressed that Dedi remains a Gerindra cadre and serves as a Dewan Pembina at the central level. He also denied that Dedi's visits to several areas, including Nusa Tenggara Timur after last week's earthquake, were tied to a bid for political sympathy.
