PSG retains Champions League title after beating Arsenal
PSG won the Champions League for a second straight season after edging Arsenal 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in Budapest.
Paris Saint-Germain retained the Champions League title after beating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties in the final at Puskas Arena, Budapest, Saturday. The two teams were tied 1-1 through 120 minutes. Arsenal went ahead early through Kai Havertz, but PSG equalized on a second-half penalty from Ousmane Dembele after a foul in the area was confirmed by VAR. The score did not change through extra time, sending the match to a shootout. PSG then prevailed 4-3 to secure their second straight European trophy. Coach Luis Enrique said defending the title is harder than winning it once, while captain Marquinhos said the team went back to work from the start of the season to repeat the achievement.
