Prolonged dry spell briefly drops Katulampa Dam level to zero
After rain for three nights, the water level rose to 30 cm before easing again to 10 cm on Tuesday afternoon.
A prolonged dry spell left Katulampa Dam in Bogor, West Java, nearly dry, with the water level briefly falling to 0 centimeters in mid-July 2026. The condition came as the upstream area in Puncak, Bogor, had not received heavy rain since the dry season began in July. After rain fell for the past three nights, the water discharge briefly rose to 30 centimeters. However, on Tuesday (21/7/2026) afternoon, the water level fell again to 10 centimeters. During the dry season, officers continued maintaining the dam and the Ciliwung River flow, including lubricating the floodgate, checking facilities, and clearing sediment to keep the current flowing smoothly.
