23-year-old naked man who attacked motorcyclist in Lenteng Agung held
Police said the suspect was intoxicated, not mentally ill, and only one victim has been recorded so far.
Police arrested Joshua, 23, after the unclothed man rampaged and hit a motorcyclist on Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Tuesday night at about 23:40 WIB. Jagakarsa Police Chief Comr. Nurma Dewi said Joshua was detained on Wednesday, and initial checks showed he was not a person with a mental disorder, but under the influence of alcohol. Police suspect he had consumed Intisari alcoholic beverage, but the bottle was not found because it was said to have been thrown away. Earlier, the South Jakarta Social Affairs Office's P3S task force had received a report via social media about a suspected mentally ill person attacking road users and coordinated with police. Joshua, who is a university student, remains under questioning, while police have recorded only one victim so far.
