Prabowo rejects term Prabowonomics at PKB anniversary

President Prabowo Subianto rejected the label “Prabowonomics” while attending the peak of PKB’s 28th anniversary at the Jakarta Convention Center on Thursday night. He said the government’s economic direction is not his personal idea, but is based on the ideals of the nation’s founders and the mandate of Articles 33 and 34 of the 1945 Constitution. Before PKB cadres wearing shirts with the term, Prabowo said using his name was not appropriate, though he appreciated the party’s support. In his speech, he also described economics as something simple, like running a coffee stall, and linked that to criticism that Indonesia’s wealth continues to flow abroad and has not been enjoyed fully by the public.
