Prabowo reviews 2026 hajj in Hambalang, cites 20 fixes
The government aims to prepare 2027 services earlier, from visas and meals to hotel accommodations for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
President Prabowo Subianto summoned the DPR Hajj Oversight Team, Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, and Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak to Hambalang, Bogor, on Wednesday (17/6) to review the 2026 hajj organization. Dahnil said about 20 improvement points were brought before the president. Irfan said this year's hajj ran well, although some aspects still need refinement. He highlighted faster visa issuance, distribution of Nusuk cards while pilgrims are still in Indonesia, and a multiyear service contract scheme with providers. According to Irfan, Prabowo also gave direction for the 2027 hajj season, including earlier service preparation, better meal quality, and improved hotel accommodations for Indonesian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
