Prabowo leads TNI mass harvest at 43 sites from Malang
The program covers 236,048 hectares of sugar cane with potential output of 1.36 million tons of sugar, or 45.05% of the 2026 national target.
President Prabowo Subianto led a simultaneous mass harvest under the TNI food security program from Lanud Abdulrachman Saleh, Malang regency, East Java, on Friday, July 17, 2026. Harvesting took place at 43 sites across Indonesia for rice, soybeans and sugar cane, then was symbolically launched together with TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto.
The program assigns roles to the three services: TNI AD supports rice and corn cultivation, TNI AL develops soybeans, while TNI AU focuses on sugar cane. According to government data presented, TNI AD assistance from January-June 2026 covered 6.26 million hectares of rice land with production of about 19.2 million tons of rice. For soybeans, TNI AL supported 2,432 hectares with a potential 3,676 tons. In the sugar cane sector, TNI AU has supported 236,048 hectares with a potential 18.386 million tons of sugar cane, or about 1.36 million tons of sugar. Prabowo also inspected sugar cane processing into sugar, bioethanol, organic fertilizer and other derivative products.
