Polri names Dedi Congor suspect in Customs gratuity case
The suspect status was set in 2023 for alleged conduct in 2008-2016, while KPK continues a separate case involving a different object.
Kortas Tipidkor Polri has named former Head of KPPBC Marunda Ahmad Dedi, also known as Dedi Congor, a suspect in a gratuity case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. Ahmad Yusuf Afandi, head of operations at Kortas Tipidkor, said the alleged receipt of gifts or promises took place in 2008-2016, the investigation began in 2017, and suspect status was imposed in 2023. Investigators have also seized evidence and are now completing the case file in line with the prosecutor's P19 instructions. In a separate track, KPK said the probe into alleged corruption at Customs and Excise is still under way because the object of the case differs from the one handled by Polri. Dedi Congor's name came up in the Blueray Cargo trial; KPK prosecutors believe John Field and two subordinates bribed Customs and Excise officials so imported goods could clear inspections faster. In that trial, Dedi was said to have received Rp30 miliar.
