Polri Forms Special Team to Probe Prabowo Wiretapping, 4 Suspects
The team is led by the head of Bareskrim, while suspect SU was not detained for health reasons.
Polri has formed a special team to examine alleged illegal wiretapping targeting President Prabowo Subianto and others, with the team led by the head of Bareskrim. The move was announced Thursday night (5/11) in Jakarta. At the same time, Bareskrim added a new suspect identified as SU in the case of illegal wiretapping, illegal access and deletion of electronic data. With that designation, the number of suspects rises to four, alongside LSP, AS and EH. Based on preliminary findings, the victims were not only Prabowo, but also state officials, political figures, media outlets, mass organization figures, NGOs and businesspeople. Police said the acts took place in 2025-2026 without a request from investigators or an attached police report, and the wiretap results were deleted in October 2026 to erase traces.
