Police seize 8.6 liters of etomidate worth Rp97.8 billion at Soetta

In three cases, four foreign couriers were arrested, while an alleged handler identified as DN was placed on the wanted list.

Polresta Bandara Soekarno-Hatta seized 8.6 liters of etomidate worth about Rp97.8 billion in three drug-smuggling cases uncovered between February and May 2026. Four foreign nationals were arrested: TN from Singapore, CT from Malaysia, JZ from China, and SP from Thailand. Police said they served as couriers in an international network and were paid about Rp45 juta to Rp132 juta each. The first case was uncovered on May 21 at Terminal 2F of the international arrivals area at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, when TN and CT arrived from Malaysia on AirAsia flight QZ241. In their luggage, officers found a total of 4,000 ml of etomidate, including liquid concealed in bottles labeled "Dove." Police are also searching for an alleged handler identified as DN, who was said to have ordered the shipment of the goods to Jakarta.
