Police to soon name suspect in Kemayoran boarding house fire
New: laboratory results are in, and investigators will seek testimony from RSCM forensic experts and a criminal law expert before a case review.
Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat is preparing to hold a case review to name a suspect in the boarding house fire on Jalan Sumur Batu Raya, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, which killed one resident. The victim, Muammar, 27 years old, was found dead in the bathroom on the 4th floor, where the fire started. The fire broke out on 14 April at around 06.20 WIB. Police said the investigation is still under way, but laboratory examination results have been received. Before the case review, investigators will ask for statements from forensic experts at RSCM regarding the autopsy results for the victim and question a criminal law expert. Police have not confirmed claims circulating on social media that the fire was set deliberately or linked to an attempted murder.
