Police arrest Taufik Hidayat in Majalaya, ex-wife abused too
Police say only one formal report has been filed so far, but Taufik Hidayat's ex-wife says she also suffered abuse.
West Java Regional Police arrested Taufik Hidayat, a suspect in the abuse and unlawful confinement of Yuvita Tri Rezeki, in Majalaya, Bandung Regency, on Tuesday (23/6/2026). Taufik had earlier been placed on the wanted list after Yuvita, 29, was allegedly confined and abused for three years in a boarding house room in Cileunyi. The victim is still receiving intensive care at Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung, with severe injuries, vision problems, difficulty speaking and an inability to walk. Police also disclosed that Taufik's former wife said she had experienced torture, though not as severe as what Yuvita endured. West Java Regional Police public relations chief Hendra Rochmawan said only one victim has filed a formal report so far, while investigators await the possibility of other victims coming forward.
