Polda Metro probes alleged paid students at Sumpah Pemuda event
Police are tracing who organized the group in fake campus jackets and have promised sanctions once the review is completed.
Polda Metro Jaya is investigating allegations of "paid students" at a commemoration of National Youth Pledge Day at Bundaran HI, Jakarta, on October 29, 2026. Polda Metro Jaya public relations chief Budi Hermanto said police are auditing how participants wearing university blazers were able to enter the event. He said police and organizers were unaware of the group’s presence and stressed the event had its own event organizer. The results of the examination, including who organized the participants, will be disclosed to the public after the review is complete, along with sanctions for those responsible. Earlier, at least two participants, Vrisma Nurhaliza and Sari Putri, apologized for wearing blazers from Universitas Terbuka and Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika even though they were not students at those campuses.
