Polda Metro Jaya Apologizes Over 2026 Student Declaration
Police said Raffi Ahmad and Willie Salim attended because they were invited by the organizers, and vowed to use the criticism as review material.
Polda Metro Jaya apologized for the controversy over the Indonesia Student Youth Pledge Declaration 2026 held in front of Pospol Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (29/10). The apology was delivered by Polda Metro Jaya public relations chief Budi Hermanto on Saturday (31/10), after the event drew public criticism. Police said the activity was organized to mark the 98th Youth Pledge Day under the theme “Patriotik, Gigih, Berempati: Pemuda untuk Indonesia”. Polda Metro Jaya also explained that Presidential Special Envoy for youth development and arts workers Raffi Ahmad and content creator Willie Salim attended because they were invited by the organizers. Police said public criticism would be used as material for evaluation.
