PLN restores 429 substations in NTT after M7.7 Flores quake
PLN is prioritizing power for hospitals and disaster posts as repairs continue after 3,478 distribution substations were hit.
PLN is gradually restoring electricity supply in Nusa Tenggara Timur after the M7.7 quake centered in Mbay, Nagekeo regency, on Saturday morning. By 11:30 WITA, 429 distribution substations were back in operation out of a total 3,478 substations that were previously identified as affected by the outage. Of the 11 substations affected, six were also back online. PLN Unit Induk Wilayah NTT General Manager F Eko Sulistyono said teams were still inspecting and repairing power plants, transmission lines, substations and distribution networks. PLN said PLTMG Maumere remained safe and was part of the initial system normalization effort. The company is prioritizing power restoration for vital facilities, including hospitals and disaster response posts.
