PLN Restores One Large Plant, Rolling Blackouts Ease in Java
Fuel supply to PLN and IPP plants is back to specification after two large units dropped off the system on 19 June.
PT PLN (Persero) has restored one large power plant on Java that had been disrupted since last week, allowing electricity supply to improve gradually and rolling blackouts to be minimized. President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said the plant resynchronized with the system on Sunday night and began feeding power into the Java grid. He said the unit was one of two large plants owned by PLN partners that went out of service because of technical problems on Friday, 19 June. PLN also said supplies of primary energy meeting specifications are now flowing again to both PLN-owned plants and independent power producers. The company has set up 24-hour monitoring and is improving supply-chain governance and generation reinforcement to maintain system reliability.
