Pertamina provides smartphones to 30 blind students in 4 provinces
The aid also includes TalkBack, LMS and digital security training, with about three months of guidance for students and mentors.
PT Pertamina (Persero) has distributed smartphones to 30 blind students in Nusa Tenggara Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Maluku, and Maluku Utara through the Beasiswa Sobat Istimewa: Digital Netra Setara program. On 9 October 2026, 10 students at SLB Negeri 1 and SLB Negeri 2 Lombok Tengah received devices equipped with accessibility features to support learning. A day later, two beneficiaries, Rendi and Nindi, joined the handover ceremony during the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. The devices use TalkBack and Indonesian-language text-to-speech so students can read digital materials and access educational apps. The program also includes training for students, teachers, and mentors, covering basic navigation, typing, LMS, and digital security.
