Online motorcycle taxi presidential decree targeted for next week

Talks also reviewed the 92:8 revenue split, which the drivers' coalition says has been in force since July 1, 2026, but not all apps comply.

The House and the government are targeting completion of a presidential regulation on online motorcycle taxis next week after a finalization meeting at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Deputy House Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said one more meeting will be held to refine the rules, which he said are almost final. The decree covers protection for driver partners, certainty over the partnership relationship with app companies, the sustainability of the business climate, and coordination across ministries. In the meeting, the House also heard input from Koalisi Ojol Nasional on implementation of the 8 percent commission. State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said the 92:8 revenue-sharing scheme, according to the drivers' coalition, has been in effect since July 1, 2026, but some app providers have not yet applied it.
