Shooting near Toledo, Ohio festival injures at least 8
Police are searching for one or more suspects; all victims were taken to hospital and are expected to survive.
At least eight people were injured in a shooting near the Old West End Festival in Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday evening local time. Police arrived at the scene around 17.30-17.37 and were still searching for one or more suspects who opened fire in the middle of a crowd. The victims were found near Delaware Avenue and Robinwood Avenue, then taken to hospital; city officials said all were expected to survive. Witness Kevin Berry said people immediately dropped to the ground when gunfire rang out, then ran for cover. The two-day festival is known as a major summer event with music, food and family activities. Citing data from Gun Violence Archive, CNN said the incident adds to at least 170 mass shootings in the United States this year.
