PDIP criticizes special treatment for Febrie entering KPK jail

PDI Perjuangan Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto criticized the special treatment given to Febrie Adriansyah when he entered the KPK branch detention center at the Gedung Merah Putih, Jakarta, on Friday night, July 24, 2026. Hasto said Febrie was not wearing a detention vest and was not handcuffed, unlike other suspects, including himself when KPK detained him in February 2025. He said the difference violated the principle of equality before the law. Febrie briefly answered reporters' questions by saying he was not wearing a vest. Attorney General's Office Oversight Deputy Rudi Margono said the vest was not used because the process took place late at night and in a hurry. The case is tied to a new warrant in the alleged PT Asabri money-laundering probe, including the discovery of 74 kilograms of gold and foreign currency at Febrie's house in Sentul, Bogor.
