PBNU opens nominations for AHWA candidates at 35th NU congress in Jombang

PBNU began carrying out the mechanism for nominating candidates for Ahlul Halli wal Aqdi (AHWA) at the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama congress in Jombang, East Java, on Wednesday. PBNU Chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf said PWNU, PCNU, and PCINU may prepare nomination letters for AHWA candidates at the registration site before registering. The letters must be signed by the Rais and Katib and stamped, then handed to the committee in a sealed envelope to be placed in the ballot box. In the registration area, Yahya watched as Rais Syuriyah PCNU Jombang K.H. Achmad Hasan became the first participant to submit the nomination envelope. Yahya also registered as a participant at the K.H. Jamaluddin Ahmad Center hall at Bahrul Ulum Islamic boarding school, accompanied by Amin Said Husni, before inspecting the congress venue and local committee.
