Israeli Arab parties emerge as kingmakers in post-election coalition
Joint List and Ra'am could help the opposition block Netanyahu's return to the premiership, according to the report.
Israeli Arab parties now stand to become decisive in forming a new government after Israel's election. CNN Indonesia wrote that no party won a majority in the Knesset, leaving Arab-party support able to sway the power struggle between Benjamin Netanyahu's camp and the opposition. The two main forces cited are Joint List and Ra'am. Joint List consists of Hadash, Balad and Ta'al, and is now led by Ahmad Tibi. In a formal statement, the alliance said it was ready to work to end Netanyahu's government and form an alternative administration. Ra'am is led by Mansour Abbas and draws support from Muslim Arab voters in Israel.
