Pam Bondi defends Epstein files release in House interview

Former Attorney General Pam Bondi told House lawmakers the DOJ released all files required by the Epstein law, while admitting redaction mistakes.

Former Attorney General Pam Bondi defended the Justice Department’s handling of records tied to Jeffrey Epstein in a nearly four-hour closed-door interview with the House Oversight Committee in Washington on Friday. Bondi said the department released everything required under the Epstein Files Transparency Act and described the effort as a massive records review. She acknowledged redaction mistakes and said she delegated oversight of the process to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. Democrats on the committee said Bondi was evasive, often said she did not know or could not recall details, and refused to answer questions related to President Donald Trump. Committee Chairman James Comer said lawmakers are examining whether more documents can legally be turned over.
