Farmers seek clarity on one-stop palm oil export scheme
They want fair prices and independent oversight before DSI becomes the sole selling agent.
Perkumpulan Organisasi Petani Sawit Indonesia (POPSI) and Satya Bumi are urging the government to clarify the scheme, roles and timeline for the one-stop export policy before PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI) is fully implemented. The president had earlier targeted full implementation starting Sept. 1, 2026, but DSI is still in an evaluation and transition stage. For now, its role is limited to recording and monitoring export transactions, while its function as exporter or sole selling agent has not yet begun. POPSI wants the policy paired with guarantees of fair prices for independent palm oil growers, who it says manage about 6.5 million hectares through 2.5 million planters. Satya Bumi warned that centralizing palm oil and nickel-based ferro alloy exports without strong governance, transparency and oversight risks concentrating economic power and creating room for rent-seeking.
