OPM attack on Tolikara toll road project kills 4 workers
Authorities identified the attackers as members of Botak Wanimbo and Teranus Enumbi, and the victims have been evacuated.
An armed attack on a road construction project in Tolikara, Papua Pegunungan, killed four PT Sutan Harauli Jaya workers on Sunday night (2/8). Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih said the assault in the Kali Kabur area, Woniki District, was carried out by OPM led by Botak Wanimbo along with the Teranus Enumbi group. The four victims identified by authorities were Arman Sibarani, Erlin Aritonang, Barengga, and Alfonds. Barengga was a local resident, while the others were project workers. Several other workers escaped to Kanggime District and reported the attack to the company. Joint TNI-Polri personnel later evacuated the victims. Three bodies were taken to RSUD Mulia in Puncak Jaya, while one body remained at RSUD Tolikara.
