OpenAI signs UAE deals with Adnoc, Mubadala and Abu Dhabi agencies
What's new: The agreements extend OpenAI into oil operations, investment analysis and machine-readable government systems.
OpenAI signed a string of agreements in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, expanding its reach across energy, finance and government as it courts Gulf capital for a new funding round. Chief Executive Sam Altman traveled to Abu Dhabi and met Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan. Under the deals, Adnoc and G42 will use OpenAI technology in the state oil company's operations, while Mubadala and Inception42 will apply the tools to investment analysis. OpenAI also launched a machine-readable government initiative with Abu Dhabi's Department of Government Enablement and signed a five-year pact with Inception42 covering government, enterprise and education.
