Nvidia lines up $500 billion AI financing with 6 Wall Street firms

Why it matters: The plan could shift GPU and data-center spending off tech balance sheets as AI capital needs strain cash flow and debt capacity.

Nvidia has lined up a $500 billion financing push with six major Wall Street firms to fund AI chips and data-center buildouts for hyperscalers, AI labs and other customers. The company signed memorandums of understanding with Apollo Global Management, Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs and KKR to create financing platforms that would let customers borrow against compute infrastructure much like other long-lived assets. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang cast GPUs as revenue-producing infrastructure rather than fast-depreciating hardware. The effort comes as investors question whether massive AI spending will pay off and as ratings concerns grow over rising debt and weaker free cash flow at big tech companies.
