Nvidia reported that its SpaceX stake was worth about $21 billion at the end of the second quarter, according to a Friday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The chipmaker said it held 122.8 million Class A shares in Elon Musk's rocket company after SpaceX's June stock market debut. SpaceX closed at $140 on Friday, down from $170.86 at the end of June, putting Nvidia's holding near $17.2 billion at the latest price. Separate 13F filings also showed Harvard Management held a roughly $2.2 billion SpaceX position, while other university investors including the University of California's investment arm also benefited from the listing.
