NUS slips to No. 10 in QS rankings as SUTD jumps 253 places
What's new: NTU held at No. 12, while SMU rose 100 spots to re-enter the global top 500.
Singapore’s National University of Singapore fell two places to 10th in the QS World University Rankings 2026, but kept its position as Asia’s top-ranked university and the region’s only school in the global top 10. Nanyang Technological University stayed at 12th. The biggest local gain came from the Singapore University of Technology and Design, which climbed 253 places to 266th, while Singapore Management University rose 100 spots to 411th and returned to the top 500 for the first time since 2020. The QS ranking, released June 18, assessed 1,500 universities across 106 countries and territories, with academic reputation, citations per faculty and employer reputation carrying the heaviest weight.
