NTT quake death toll rises to 47, 5,000 displaced in 6 regencies
BNPB recorded 941 homes severely damaged and NTT declared a 14-day disaster emergency status.
The death toll from the 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur has risen to 47, while about 5,000 residents have been displaced in six regencies. BNPB data as of Sunday morning showed the largest displacement in Sikka, with 3,356 people, including 1,356 at GOR Samador, followed by Manggarai with 2,078 people and Nagekeo with 500. The highest number of deaths was recorded in Manggarai at 23 and Manggarai Timur at 17; Sikka recorded four fatalities, while Manggarai Barat, Ende and Nagekeo each reported one. BNPB also recorded 101 injured people. Damage includes 941 homes severely damaged, 126 moderately damaged and 317 lightly damaged, along with 93 education facilities, 36 health facilities and 38 government offices. The NTT provincial government has declared a 14-day disaster emergency status.
