Ngumoha sparks Liverpool rally in 4-3 win over Villarreal

What's new: The 18-year-old set up two goals, completed seven of eight dribbles and earned UEFA's player-of-the-match award.

Rio Ngumoha drove Liverpool's comeback from two goals down in a 4-3 Champions League win over Villarreal at Anfield, delivering the standout performance of his young career. The 18-year-old did not score, but he created two goals as Alexis Mac Allister struck twice and Liverpool recovered after a poor first half. Ngumoha repeatedly beat defenders down the flank, finished with 12 touches in the opposition box and completed seven of eight dribbles. He was replaced in the 74th minute to chants of his name and later received UEFA's player-of-the-match award. The display added to a season in which the teenager has broken into Liverpool's first team and already made his England debut.
