News outlets sue over $100,000 early access to Trump Truth posts

The Intercept and the Freedom of the Press Foundation sued President Donald Trump and other defendants in Manhattan federal court over a Truth Social service that sells early access to his posts for as much as $100,000 a month. The complaint challenges Truth API, a Trump Media & Technology Group feed launched Aug. 1 that offers faster delivery of posts from 10 high-profile accounts, including Trump’s. The plaintiffs argue the arrangement lets the president profit from official communications and denies equal access to market-moving statements on tariffs, wars and other policy matters. They want the court to bar the White House from publishing official announcements exclusively on Truth Social while the paid service operates.
