New Kim Jong Un photos in Pyongyang debunk death rumors
KCNA showed Kim with his daughter at a clothing and footwear exhibit a day after an online post claimed he had a brain hemorrhage.
North Korea's state media released new photos of Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang on Tuesday (20/10), amid social media rumors claiming he had died of a brain hemorrhage. KCNA said Kim visited a consumer goods exhibition featuring clothing and footwear on Monday (19/10), accompanied by his daughter, Ju Ae, and several party and government officials. The rumor came from a post by Xie Wanjun on Sunday (18/10), who claimed to lead the China Democratic Party. He alleged Kim had fallen into a coma, been taken to Peking Union Medical College Hospital in China, and then died. The claim was unverified, and North Korea's heavily restricted access to information makes such reports difficult to check independently.
