MIND ID restores 8,000 ha of mines, 37,700 ha of watersheds

The 2025 program is aimed at preserving access to financing and markets as demand rises for strategic minerals.

By 2025, MIND ID Group has reclaimed more than 8,000 hectares of post-mining land and rehabilitated more than 37,700 hectares of watershed areas across its operating regions in Indonesia. The state-owned mining holding company said the achievement is part of a more integrated sustainable mining practice. At the subsidiary level, Antam recorded a rise in biodiversity index at its nickel unit in North Maluku from 1,757 to 1,963. PT Freeport Indonesia has carried out mangrove conservation over more than 2.200 hectares. Inalum has restored the catchment area of Lake Toba across more than 4.000 hectares. PT Timah raised its biodiversity index from 2,88 in 2022 to 3,26 in 2025, while Vale Indonesia reclaimed 156,67 hectares in Sorowako and 1,42 hectares at IGP Morowali and rehabilitated 17.877 hectares of watersheds.
