Mendagri allocates Rp64 billion for top-performing Papua local governments
The fiscal incentive fund is split across four categories, including poverty and stunting reduction, unemployment, inflation and creative financing.
Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian allocated Rp64 billion in Regional Incentive Funds to top-performing local governments in Tanah Papua at the award night for the 2026 Papua regional government appreciation event in Kota Jayapura on Monday. The incentive was transferred to the Regional General Treasury Account for community activities. The four assessment categories cover poverty reduction and stunting reduction, creative financing, lower unemployment rates, and inflation control. Tito said the award is intended to spur competition in performance among regional leaders and speed up improvements in public services. He also asked recipient regions to use the funds to improve residents' welfare and avoid legal problems.
