Mbappe hat trick leads Real Madrid past Real Sociedad 4-1
The win puts Madrid top of the standings with six points, while Sociedad remain without a point.
Kylian Mbappe scored three goals as Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad 4-1 at Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday. Mbappe opened the scoring in the 40th minute from a Federico Valverde pass, but Luka Sucic equalized four minutes later after pouncing on the ball in the penalty area. Madrid were sharper in the second half. Mbappe struck again in the 60th minute after receiving a pass from Jude Bellingham, then Vinicius Junior made it 3-1 in the 68th minute from the England midfielder's assist. Mbappe completed his hat trick in the 80th minute after collecting a through ball from Vinicius and beating Alex Remiro. Madrid thought they had added a late goal through Brahim Diaz in the 90th minute, but it was ruled out for offside.
