Maulid 1448 H, Minister urges morals as the basis of civilization

Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar urged Muslims to make morals the foundation for building civilization during the Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW 1448 Hijriah/2026 Masehi commemoration in Jakarta on Monday. He said the Prophet Muhammad's mission began with shaping human character, so religion did not stop at individual teachings but became a force that shaped social life and civilization. Nasaruddin quoted the Prophet's saying, "I was sent only to perfect noble character." According to him, that message explains how the change brought by the Prophet altered human history, moving from the jahiliah era, when the strong oppressed the weak and women lost their dignity, toward a more just civilization. He also called on Muslims to deepen their love for the Prophet and emulate his character.
