What's next: The 22-year-old Brighton midfielder is set for a medical this weekend after United settled on £65 million plus add-ons.
Manchester United have agreed a deal worth up to £70 million to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, with the 22-year-old expected to undergo a medical this weekend. The fee is £65 million up front with a possible £5 million in add-ons, and Brighton also secured a sell-on clause. Baleba would become United’s third midfield addition of the window after Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans as Michael Carrick reshapes the center of his squad. Baleba joined Brighton from Lille in 2023 and is currently out with an ankle injury suffered during a preseason camp in Austria. If completed, the transfer would lift United’s summer spending to about £153 million.
