Bali students submit 16 demands to DPRD, threaten new protest in 3 days
The group gave DPRD Bali three days to forward the demands to the central government or face another street protest.
Aliansi Bali Bergerak, which includes university BEM students across Bali and civil society groups, staged a protest Monday (22/6) outside the Bali Provincial DPRD building in Renon, Denpasar. They handed 16 points of demands to Deputy Speaker III DPRD Bali I Komang Nova Sewi Putra and other lawmakers. The demands cover the economy, education, human rights, the environment, democracy and the Makan Bergizi Gratis program. I Gusti Agung Ngurah Oka Paramahamsa, head of the Udayana University BEM, said the crowd gave the lawmakers three days to pass the demands on to the central government. If there is no follow-up or sign of attention, they will return to the streets.
