Law Society seeks to strike Pritam Singh off rolls after conviction

Singapore's Law Society has applied to have Workers' Party chief Pritam Singh struck off the roll of advocates and solicitors after his conviction for giving false evidence under oath. The disciplinary case will be heard Aug. 13 by a Court of Three Judges led by Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, with Justices Kannan Ramesh and See Kee Oon. Singh, an Aljunied GRC MP and non-practising lawyer, was convicted on two counts tied to testimony before a Committee of Privileges investigating former WP MP Raeesah Khan's false Parliament claim in 2021. He lost his High Court appeal in December 2025 and paid a S$14,000 fine. Under Singapore's Legal Profession Act, the court can strike him off, suspend him for up to five years, censure him or impose a fine.
