80-year-old dies after being struck by Bogor-Jakarta KRL in Tebet
Service on Commuter Line 1183 was briefly disrupted after the train's braking system was damaged before operations resumed.
An elderly man named Ishak, 80, died after being struck by a KRL Commuter Line on the Bogor-Jakarta Kota route on Jalan Kebon Baru, Tebet, South Jakarta, Thursday at around 06.50 WIB. AKP Joko Adi Wibowo, head of public relations for the South Jakarta Metro Police, said witness accounts showed the victim walking along the edge of the track just before the train passed from Bogor toward Jakarta Kota. The victim died at the scene and was taken to a hospital. The incident also briefly disrupted Commuter Line Bogor train 1183 because the train set's braking system was damaged. After officers handled the case and checked the train set, the train was sent on to Manggarai Station and service gradually returned to normal.
