Pidie Jaya flood victims use Rp8 million aid for business

New: some of the stimulus funds are being used not only to clean homes but also to open small stalls in temporary housing areas.

Several flood victims in Pidie Jaya, Aceh, are using government aid not only to repair homes, but also as capital for small businesses in temporary housing. In Meunasah Lhok village, Milawati used Rp8 million in stimulus funds and Rp200 ribu in cooperative aid to clean up her damaged home and open a snack business with her family. She said sales are used for daily needs and to support the family economy. Another resident, Salwati, also used part of the stimulus funds to sell food and drinks in the huntara area. The growth of small businesses at the site shows that post-flood aid is helping drive residents' economic recovery, not just physical repairs.
