Komisi III summons Lombok police chief over 3 burned santri
The family alleged the victims were set on fire and bullied before the incident, while police have named two suspects.
Komisi III DPR summoned Lombok Tengah Police Chief Eko Yusmiarto to Jakarta to discuss the handling of the case of three santri burned at Pondok Pesantren Rosudatussaulatiyah Al Ibrahimy in Aik Darek Village, Batukliang, Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat. During the hearing, the victims and their families attended with the Mataram Child Protection Institute and their legal team. The family said the victims were allegedly set on fire in an empty room and had previously faced bullying. Police said they have named two suspects: the ponpes leader MR (55) and a senior student identified as AMR (15), on charges of negligence causing death and serious injury. The incident occurred in December 2025 and was only investigated starting in June 2026 after the family filed a report. The three victims were Ahmad Deven Ramdan, Sahid Al Hudri, and NSS, who died after receiving treatment.
