Komisi II sends 28-point election bill list to party chiefs
Formal deliberations have not begun, even after the 22-MK ruling-based draft was sent to DPR leaders and party chairmen.
Komisi II DPR has submitted the daftar inventarisasi masalah (DIM) for the RUU Pemilu to party chairmen and faction leaders in an effort to speed up discussion of election rules. Komisi II Chairman Rifqinizamy Karsayuda said the DIM contains 28 points, with 22 Mahkamah Konstitusi rulings as the main basis for drafting it. He said the draft sets out three norm options: provisions that fully follow the MK rulings, proposals from election experts and observers, and views from eight factions in the DPR. Even so, the working committee has not been formed and formal deliberations have not started. At the same time, Benny Kabur Harman urged that the RUU Pemilu process be opened meaningfully to the public and not held too close to Pemilu 2029, so there is time to challenge problematic articles at the MK.
