Kemlu tracks Indonesian climbers after Nepal-Tibet floods kill 165

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is still tracing the whereabouts of WNI traveling and climbing near the Nepal-Tibet border after flash floods and landslides killed at least 165 people. As of Thursday, there have been no reports of WNI affected, but data collection on Indonesian tourists in Nepal is still under way. Kemlu is coordinating with KBRI Dhaka, KBRI Beijing, the RI Honorary Consul in Kathmandu, travel agents and local authorities. Records show 45 WNI live in Nepal, mostly in Kathmandu and working in the hospitality sector. KBRI Dhaka has also asked agents that sent WNI to Nepal to immediately report the condition of their clients, especially those climbing in the Himalaya region. Nepal and China authorities reported a total of 1.384 people still missing.
